Short-Term and Long-Term Disability benefits are often provided by your employer as an optional insurance in the event that you become disabled and cannot work your job.
However, if your employer does not provide this benefit, you can buy your own private Disability Insurance. Often times, private Disability Insurance plans can provide you with a higher disability pay than Social Security, and sometimes they have an easier standard for proving disability.
As with any disability matter, the benefit provider may still contest your eligibility under the insurance policy. If this occurs, or if you have questions about a private disability policy you already own, contact The Law Office of Malyuk McDaniel Kasper LLC at 330.929.9700.
