The Social Security Administration recently announced changes, effective for 2018, that will impact the over 10 million Americans who qualify for Social Security Disability payments.
Here are the highlights:
Disability recipients will be permitted to earn a bit more income each month and still qualify for disability payments.
For those currently receiving disability payments, full or part-time work can be trailed with a maximum monthly gross income of $850, up from $840 in 2017.
If you are disabled but not blind, your maximum monthly payment will be $1,180, an increase of $10 a month compared to 2017 thresholds.
Individuals who are blind will be able to receive a maximum monthly payment of $1,970 a month, which equates to an additional $20 monthly for 2018.
